IEEE ASU Board members attended the 3-day OPCOM meeting, which is the once a year meeting open to every IEEE member in the region to participate in a discussion with IEEE leadership on topics of interest to the IEEE members. This year the OPCOM meeting was jointly hosted by the Region 4 OPCOM once again for additional networking opportunities. It also included an optional Senior Member Elevation event and HKN Induction Ceremony.
The Region 4 & 6 OPCOM meeting kicked-off on Friday, 25th January 2019 at Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Tempe. The meeting started with a welcome, introduction of all the attendees and director remarks. It was then followed by a session on Membership Development. There was a presentation by the 2019 IEEE President Jose M.F. Moura about the IEEE goals for 2019. The Day continued with presentations on 2019 IEEE VP – 2019 MGA Goals, 2019 IEEE-USA Goals and Objectives, IEEE ED and Future Directions. The first day of the OPCOM ended with the Senior Membership Elevation and Region 6 Budget and Bylaw Forum.
