The board members of IEEE ASU were invited as Society Judges for the Future City Competition 2019 along with the executive committee of the Phoenix Section on 19th January 2019. The Arizona Regional Finals round of the competition was held at Casteel High School, Queen Creek.

The Future City Competition program introduces 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to engineering concepts through practical applications of math and science. Student teams are guided by volunteer engineers and teachers as they design and build their vision of the urban world of tomorrow. The Future City program takes place in more than 30 regions of the United States and there are trial programs in several countries. The competition is sponsored by the National Engineers Week Committee, a consortium of engineering associations and major US industries.

Our board members evaluated student projects and presentations. The students proposed innovative ideas to make the cities better and improve living conditions. It was a good opportunity to interact with students aspiring to take up engineering as a career and introducing IEEE to them. #IEEEASU#IEEE #AZ #FutureCity2019
