On 13th April 2019, two board members from IEEE ASU Student Branch got an opportunity to attend the Spring 2019 Southwest Area Meeting held in San Diego.
The Southwest Area meeting focussed on improving leadership within sections and student branches under the Region 6. Important topics such as leadership transition, future goals, increasing student involvement, participation in Rising Stars conference, funding opportunities within IEEE, etc. were discussed in the meeting. Student branch Chairs from IEEE UCSD and ASU shared their ideas and experiences.
Prior to the meeting, everyone enjoyed an amazing evening with fabulous dinner and networking opportunities with IEEE directors and leaders from the southwest area. We would like to thank the Phoenix Section for providing this opportunity to our board members and we are surely looking forward to attend the next area meeting !
